silver teapot and sugar bowl - Russiathis silver set was made in Russia in 1896 and bears marks of silversmith (VP in cyrillic), assayer (PO in cyrillic), date (1896), purity degree (84 zolotnicki) and City of Moskow mark (St.George). The set comprises teapot and sugar bowl, both parcel gilt, with hinged covers, ivory finials and scroll handles with ivory insulators (for teapot). The set has engraving on the cover and on the body, with a rich floral motif surrounding the gilded reserve. The teapot is 5 in. high (cm. 12,5) and the sugar bowl is 4 1/2 in. high (cm. 11). The set was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair. These items are not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet.
