silver salt cellar - Kingdom of Sardinia
(Genoa-Italy)
this salt cellar was made in Genoa (Kingdom of Sardinia) in the first half of the 19th century. It has
a crystal bowl fitting into a silver base on four floral legs.
The salt cellar has the 800/1000 hallmark for large works (Cross of SS. Maurizio e Lazzaro) and the
silversmith hallmark (S with another pair of not readable letters)
The salt has a diameter of 2 3/4 in. (cm. 7) on the bowl, is 3 3/4 in. (cm. 8,5) high and was bought from
an Italian dealer in an Antique Market.
This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet.
On the right bar of this page there are some advertisings of websites of silver and antique dealers
