silver napkin ring - Germany

German antique silver napkin ring this silver napkin ring was made in Germany in the first years of 20th century.
The napkin ring bears silversmith's hallmark (crossed hammers) and German marks for 800/1000 silver (half-moon and crown). An old copy of Diebener's Deutscher Goldschmiede-Kalender for 1925 lists this crossed hammer mark as that of C. Well of Berlin, manufascturer of flatware & small table silver, they were probably successors to Gebr. Petersfedlt of Berlin, who registered the mark in 1894 (but had been using it from 1882) (courtesy Charles C. Cage).
It is fully engraved with floral motifs and a reserve with Earl's crown and M F monogram.
The napkin ring is 1 1/2 in. high (cm. 4) and was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair.

This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet. On the right bar of this page there are some links to silver and antique dealers websites
